This was very nearly a one star, but the last 100 pages were three star so I have compromised on two stars. I would have given up early on if I hadn’t received a copy in exchange for review. Then I nearly gave up again because I just couldn’t bear the torture. The final section made it semi-worth-it.

The first two thirds were sooooo dull and frustrating. Sarah is not a likeable character. She spent hundreds of pages obsessing over a guy who ghosted her. Get some self respect! At least five million times she decided to get over him. Then moaned for a dozen more pages before deciding to get over him. Then moaned for a dozen more pages before deciding to get over him. And so on. And so on. And so on. Uuuugh! In the first forty pages she told us about forty times that she’s nearly forty, then got worked up about seeing some girls she fell out with at school. Seriously? Get a grip!

And by biggest peeve - she lived at his house for a week, if you’re that desperately to stalk him into explaining why he’s ghosts you then just go round to his house for crying out loud!! The whole thing was just frustratingly illogical.

And she lied about her sister! A sickening lie to tell!

The extra star comes from the last 100 pages, because there was a little twist, but it wasn’t as wholly unpredictable as other reviews want to make out. But at least these last few pages had a quicker pace and more action rather than just whinging and whinging about the same thing over and over and over again.
