A lovely heartwarming and heartbreaking story with twists and turns!!
Wow, I absolutely loved this! The story follows Eddie and Sarah who meet by chance and subsequently spend the next week together, having the most perfect time and falling further and further in love. Eddie goes away on holiday after this but wholeheartedly promises to call Sarah and stay in contact. However, as the title suggests, he does not call, and he does not reply to any of her messages. What happened to Eddie and why did he cut off all contact from Sarah?? The narrative cuts between the present and the past, mixing the week Sarah and Eddie spent together amongst the heartache Sarah is going through since Eddie disappeared.
I won't say any more at all about the story, nor the other characters for fear of giving too much away, but I must say that this story is so much more than just a romance. There was so much depth to the story and multiple themes were explored; there were even twists and turns akin to those in a thriller or mystery! I loved these aspects of the plot, particularly as I normally find pure romance novels to be a little bland.
