I found this book to be a slow burner, the initial quarter is a bit slow with the main character moping about and it gets a bit tiresome. I wanted the story to build quicker and I almost put it down more than once. The remainder builds to an excellent and exciting finish with a massive shocker which I wasn’t prepared for. It was an emotional roller coaster and I cried more than once. It’s a beautiful story once through the initial few chapters. It’s well written with likeable characters who I really did want the best for. The twist was completely unexpected but brilliantly placed in the story - it’s a genuine OMG moment which is a really great addition as predictable books are quite disappointing. I genuinely loved this book and will highly recommend it.
