One of the most heart-breaking books I have read this year. One of the few books that actually moved me to tears. This book deals with very difficult issues, but ends up making it all a bit too easy for the protagonists. That being said, the characters were very well written and the plot moves at a steady pace for the most part (although it does get bogged down a bit in the middle). It was a good read, I certainly didn't see the twist coming; I was expecting the story to go in one direction, but it changed during the course of one conversation in the book. The intrigue as to why he didn't call was drawn out - but not too much. All in all, it was a good book, but it didn't quite tick all the boxes for me.
