A twist in every chapter
Wow. This is one of the best books I've read in years. My favourite author is Jodi Picoult and I haven't found anyone who comes close to getting me hooked into a book. Until now.
I don't usually choose to read books about romance; I tend to find them cliched and unrealistic. However, this exceeded my expectations. I couldn't put it down and read it in a day.
Initially, I was convinced that I'd worked out what had happened to the the man who didn't call. How wrong I was. I challenge anyone to work it out correctly. Every chapter seemed to have its own twist. I kept telling myself, "Just one more chapter for now," but it was impossible to put down.
All of the characters are realistic. The love between the 2 main characters - despite being so brief - was believable and I was fully emotionally invested. Right up until the last page, where I'm not ashamed to admit I shed some tears.
Since winning this book, I've seen it in a lot of shops and many friends have mentioned it. I hope this indicates the success it deserves.
