I'm going to start straight away by saying I loved this. This was not what I thought it would be at all. Woman meets man, they fall in love after one crazy week then he disappears............I'm ashamed to say I judged this on the cover and plot. I love a good romcom but this was so, so much more than that. I felt like I was reading an Agatha Christie mixed with Jenny Colgan, which is a fantastic thing because I adore both.
Some people have said they find it frustrating to read, but I think you are meant to feel confused, frustrated and annoyed when reading. The way it is structured, constantly jumping from one POV to another, adds to the tension, leading you to see a glimpse of what's going on and then immediately changing route until the very end. All the clues are there, but it is how you interpret them - a classic Christie trope, which I love mixed with the romance.
So if you love a good Jenny Colgan & Agatha Christie, then you will love this! Go read people- the hype is real!
