I already felt an emotional connection early on with this book because it references a place that I grew up in and so that familiarity and comfort mixed with the heartbreak and tragedy within its pages really touched me.
This book doesn’t shy away from the big human emotions we will all face or will have already faced in our lives and the lives of those around us. Love, loss, forgiveness and what the power of all three together can be.
I will admit I cried my way through most of the last few chapters. I absolutely adored the character of Eddie, maybe because I recognised parts of his appearance and personality in the locals of our towns and villages but equally because of him possessing qualities that many of them are missing.
I really recommend you put this on your Summer TBR list! This book is a great mix of romance and mystery. Filled with life changing events and envoking for me so many memories and emotions within its pages.
