This was an excellent book that supassed all my expectations when I read the preview as I imagined it to be very fluffy and light reading, but it certainly wasn't that. The book's cover does suggest a somewhat melancholy mood, as does the title, but it does not prepare you for what the author has written inside. Rosie Walsh has created really strong and believable characters, and a situation that any one of us could find ourselves starting to be caught up in. This being Walsh's first book under her own name makes it an outstanding 'debut' novel too, and her background in documentary production and writing help to create a sense of realness and believability in her characters, as well as locations, settings and situations. A big thumbs up from me.
