Had potential...but not quite there.

I really wanted to give this book 4 stars because I actually quite enjoyed it, but certain aspects I just couldn’t get on board with.
Firstly, here’s what I enjoyed about this book:
- It was definitely a page turner. I read this book so fast (faster than normal for me) because the writing style was so accessible and it genuinely kept my interest.
- The twists were good; some I was able to guess but one in particular I was so surprised at I actually went back to certain parts to see where I’d missed the clues.
What I didn’t enjoy so much was certain plot points:
- Sarah and Reubens profession. It’s just to weird and bizarre, not relatable at all. The writer could have given them a job with equal relevance to the plot that was a bit more generic.
- Without revealing spoilers, I thought mystery surrounding Eddie relied on far too many coincidental factors that the author almost had to chuck in as a means of making the plot work.

In summary, a light and easy page turner, good if you don’t mind overlooking use of artistic license and a few odd plot choices.
