Released as 'Ghosted' in the US, this book is marketed as a surprising thriller about a man and a woman who spend one magical week together, until he ghosts after they declare their love for each other. And if you're like me, you're thinking this premise sounds a little ridiculous, but could be promising. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
For starters, this book is a good 150 pages too long. What starts as an intriguing base premise quickly deteriorates into a tirade of other stories, all adding to the notion that we need to feel sorry for the main character. The actual narrative finishes after about a third of the book, when we're introduced to hundreds of other elements that really don't make any sense. This book feels a bit all over the place, never quite of sure of where it's truly going. It's not edited well. Mainly, I just actively disliked all of the characters and felt like it was a bit unnecessary. It's just okay. Nothing massively taxing on the brain, but nothing revolutionary either.
