I liked the premise of the book and found that the cover drew me in, so I took a chance and had a read. I have nothing against the book but the style is just not for me, but I can see why people would get enjoyment from it. I like the opening lines, it draws you in and makes you want to read on. And the cover is lovely, it’s simple but you’d definitely spot it on a shelf if you were passing by. Despite this not being the book for me, I am definitely willing to try other works by the author as the writing style is impressive and I can see myself enjoying their other work if it is more suited towards the genres I usually go for. Overall a good first impression, but I just wouldn’t pick the book up personally.
