“Nobody warns you that life continues to be complicated after you’ve done the right thing. That there is no reward, beyond some intangible sense of moral fortitude.”

Okay, I cried. But how couldn’t I? The story is heart wrenching, heartbreaking.. it is everything.

Sarah is visiting her parents in the UK for the anniversary of the day she’d lost her sister. Nineteen years ago she moved to the US to run away from the tragic events of her car-crashing and losing her sister. Now, she is living in L.A. freshly divorced after 17-years of marriage. She doesn’t like being back in the UK, until she meets a guy, speaking to a sheep in the field. It seems that Eddie is in the right place, at the right time to meet Sarah.

They spend the whole day together and immediately fell for each other. This is followed by seven heavenly perfect days until Eddie has to go on a vacation in Spain and never call Sarah back. Everybody is going to feel so shitty in Sarah’s shoes. She tried 38601377._SY475_everything – from dropping him numerous messages, calling him and even write on his wall on Facebook, having this dumb feeling that something bad had happened to him.

We have the ‘second’ part of the book, that enlightens the story a lot. And then the ‘third’ part, that left me speechless and craving for more.

The author manages to keep me in dark until the near end. I didn’t expect it. Yeah, it may sound a bit naive, but I didn’t see the twist coming. I was absolutely amazed. I thought that Eddie is somebody else, I had some assumption, but it turned out they all have been wrong ones.

At first, I didn’t have big expectations for this book. It sounds like the usual New Adult romance or Chick-Lit. But it is not. It is a book about loss, family and the guilt that follows you every day. Yeah, it is kind of romantic, but it is way deeper than just another romance book.
