Ella was getting ready to go to the Arcanum Training Institute, one of the first conjurors to be allowed in. Her mother and grandmother didn’t really want her to go though and her little sister Winnie wanted to go with her.
I think the magic and the words they use were over done for the start of a book, it would have been better extending it over a few chapters, as it was I felt bombarded by it and out of my depth.
Maybe now the author had put so much in to the first chapter it will now calm down and become a good book as it does sound as if it has a good storyline
