It's an attractive cover which should appeal to children of all ages whatever their family background. As Ella starts her marvelling education there are certainly many similarities to the Harry Potter saga but Ella is from a conjuring tradition in the American south and I already feel confident there will be many parallels but no reworking of Hogwart's themes.
I'm already hoping to invest in the whole series and have several children in mind to receive a copy as soon as it is published. It's a shame it won't be out before Christmas.
