Ella Durand is eleven years old and she is allowed to join the arcanum training institute as a student.
She is the first conjuror to do so and since the laws have changed to allow this things are difficult for Ella and she struggles to fit in with the other kids

But things are starting to happen and Ella is being accused of things, things she didn't do and then her mentor and teacher Masterji Thakur goes missing.
It's upto Ella and her friends to find the missing teacher and clear her name, but can she succeed?
This was a brilliant start to a new series, I really loved the story and characters and is a great addition to the witch / wizarding school canon of novels.
