Really great debut novel! Perfect for fantasy fans.
Thought it was an interesting premise and perfect for a younger audience. The characters were really fleshed out (Ella was a personal fav) keeping the book interesting, and the settings were interesting; house and magic system was cool, but there will always be some obvious harry potter parallels. The pacing of the book wasn't bad and it was fairly easy to get through but some of the new words took some time to get used to. I really enjoyed the adventure aspect of the book and it was very imaginative.
The plot was a little easy to predict but still enjoyable and liked that the book was divided. The cover was very eye catching and appropriate for the book (looks great on a shelf) and a nice break from my usual reads. I cannot wait to see where the series will go with future books and how the story develops further/expands.
