even though im not the target audience i enjoyed the book, set in a magical world, the book is essentially about acceptance, i love the cover art on this book. i look forward to reading the next books in the series and seeing what lessons they learn, while enjoyed the book i do think it got much better in the 2nd half, there are quite a lot of questions still by the end but they will hopefully be answered in future books, i think the characters are great, naturally as its a book based around magic skill there will be comparisons to harry potter but i feel this would be unfair as its a different kind of world and characters, at times i think a directory would help as there are new words related to their world that are not always explained cleanly straight away and maybe a staff list and what they teach as i got a little lost at times but maybe that's just me,
