A great mid grade book with magic!
You can tell this book is set to be read by a younger audience but I enjoyed it just the same. I feel like books like this take me back to school day reading (which I did alot of!). I think teen kids will LOVE this book as it is very much like the Percy Jackson series. I did find it a bit predictable but with the age it's set for it needs to be more obvious and not hard to work out in a way compared to YA or Adult fantasy books.
The different houses in the book is reminiscent of Harry Potter which again I liked as I adored the hp series. I loved Ella's character too and think kids will love trying to work out who is actually guilty.
For anyone who didn't know, there's also a book 2 set to release in September!
Overall, a very diverse story with influences from all our favorite mid grade/ya series that will keep you hooked, wanting more and will suck you into the world for sure!
