School of magic...
Well what to say? Basically, I had high hopes and wanted to like this more than I did.
Given that it's aimed at children, as an adult I felt confused and a little unsure how children could keep up. Although, perhaps I'm selling children short here and it was just my adult brain that struggled.
The concept is a good one, despite a school of magic being a tried and tested favourite - Harry Potter and Worst Witch anyone! This did however seem a bit more unusual and it was nice to have a strong female protagonist.
That said, I did get lost at times and had to read back to try and understand what was going on. There's also a lot of confusing names and jargon to keep up with, again partly due to the genre I guess
If you've got children who love anything magical, then my guess is they will enjoy this. Those who find reading tricky however may struggle with some of the language.
