Usually I don't read period literature, even one which swaps between eras but I have to say that this novel has drawn me in that I couldn't stop reading. Dying to see how Charlie Priest manages to talk his way out of a deadly situation and beat a murder charge and discover what he has to do with the Mayfly. Priest has dark humor, giving a break from the seriousness of the current situation.
