Gruesomely fascinating
I have a morbid fascination with the Second World War, especially the Nazi Doctors work so this book was right up my street (I’m not sure if that’s something I should admit to though!)
The story was well thought out and was delivered expertly. I didn’t guess “the villain” at all so I was completely surprised by the reveal as were some of the other characters.
I only deducted a star as my pet peeve is when authors also add a romantic relationship to a story where I feel it isn’t needed. To me, personally, it feels unnecessary to the story. I understand that others enjoy that that element is added and that’s just a difference in opinion. I don’t think it was necessary, in this instance, to add any form of relationship to the main characters but, having said that, it also didn’t ruin the story.
