I loved the eloquent description of the Manse - how it appeared to be sinister and watching. Reading this almost felt like leaning back and looking up at a very tall structure- that dizzy feeling that makes you feel like falling. And then the sudden change in style to narrative was like being pulled back from a day-dream. The rest of the sneak peak continued in a similar fashion - one minute almost gothic horror, the next moment back to more grounded reality. I can’t wait to read more and unravel the secrets of the Manse and its former occupants.
