I was immediately excited to get a look at this book as I love reading stories set in my own country. Although I am from the central belt of Scotland and not the highlands I always find it so much easier to contextualise an area I know.
On a first read the story seems interesting, I’m already invested in finding out the fate of Ailsa’a Father. The only thing that I’m not immediately keen on is the over exaggeration of the Scots’s dialect. Hopefully it’s not so frequent throughout the book to be offputting!
