The author has done a great job of setting the scene, and introducing and developing the main character, Ailsa. She is slowly developing the character of her sister Carrie and I hope she will continue to do this.
There is a lot of tension and suspense in the writing, and when she saw the intruder, I actually took an inhale of surprise.
The level of description in the book enables the reader to actually visualise the house and the atmosphere.
I wouldn't like to continue with this book to see if it develops into a tartan noir or a romance.
