The writing suits the setting, solid and slow. The author doesn't paint a vivid picture so much as slowly layer the images up for you, piece by piece. It's an intriguing storyline, plenty of mystery to be unfolded. Feel a like a slow burner. Well written book with varied, lengthy vocabulary which is enjoyable.
