A disputed inheritance, missing father and a whole bunch of questions has already got it's hooks into me from the opening pages of this first impression.

It then settles into a more sedate pace but does a good job of setting the scene and introducing the characters and background through normal dialouge, it doesn't seem forced.

There's a good mix of the mundane and mysterious, and plenty of side threads emerging, with old neighbours, missing family but it hasn't quite expanded enough on what this story will be about.

Having read the whole first impression I don't feel I have a considerably better idea of the direction of this book than I'd have gotten from just the blurb, but it may well be good further into it.
