There is so much tension in these opening chapters! The writing style really helps to build this suspense, with short sentences - right from the very beginning with the sinister "the Manse is watching me". The speech is all written very naturally, too.
I love the idea of this being set in the Scottish highlands - so much of the success of suspense novels is in the setting and I think this one will work extremely well!
