This isn’t really the kind of book that I would normally read, but I was curious about the setting and brief look at the book. It is about Ailsa and her half sister Carrie, Ailsa inherits half of a house, a manse in Scotland, I had to look up what a manse was as I had never heard of it. The girls go to live in the house while they are waiting to sort things out, but there are creepy goings on. This is a bit more creepy than the kind of book that I normally like, it is well written and sent shivers down my spine at points. I don’t think that this would appeal if you have a keen interest in horrors/thrillers as by most people’s standards this would most likely be quite tame. I did enjoy the book though and found it a curious read, I’m not sure if I would read another book by this author.
