I was really looking forward to reading this book, Ailsa has inherited half of ‘The Manse’ and some strange things start to happen. The author does do a really good job at creating a scary and chilling atmosphere, my only issue is there is a lot of personification and that isn’t really my thing as the personification sets the atmosphere rather than the feelings and thoughts of the characters. The story goes on for quite a while before the bulk of the plot starts to play out, but overall it was a good book to get your head in to!
My biggest criticism was that it seemed there was too much information and to sorry lingered on parts that weren’t significant but the parts where the story got interesting seemed rushed in the last few chapters
