As an expat who has lived in London and in Scotland I was immediately drawn to this book and I was not disappointed. You instantly get an uneasy feeling about the house that she inherited and the descriptive nature truly makes you feel like you're there.

There were a few things such as using American dialect, which I've learned to avoid so it really stood out to me. It is not a big deal but sadly people do notice these things and though the book really pulls you in these moments pull you out for a moment. For example, calling the first floor of a home the second floor.

Overall, however, I really enjoyed the book. The tension and suspense in this book made it hard to put down and I look forward to more books by this author.
