I thoroughly enjoyed this book. That might be a dull statement to open with, but I genuinely did. The characters were vivid and structured, the build up of suspense balanced, the little boost of supernatural making it just that little bit more special.
It's a pleasure to see another boom from Lexie Elliott and I truly hope we're going to see several more; she has a talent for again that balance between "Easy reading" and "highly engaging", which is a chunk of the market not optimised enough.
For example, I've just read this book for four hour straight and am writing this ag 3am, because I couldn't put it down. Almost like the Manse itself, this book has a hold over you from the moment you begin it to the moment you finish. Cleverly structured, with all the bones (pun very much intended) to allow this to fit into numerous categories, this novel deserves high praise.
