I'm not really sure what I've just read, it came across to me as quite a jumbled half thought up opening.
Certainly the atmosphere of sadness and intrigue started well, with some form of historical escape and betrayl but that quickly decended into the story of Laure set in Paris running a museum.
Apparently this Museum is full of donated artifacts representing broken promises and the sheer sight of them invokes reactions in it's visitors.
Most of this is me inferring though because what I read was a bit mundane and did very little explaining or setting the scene.
All in all I liked the cover very much, and the premise from the blurb seemed ok, but the actual first impression wasn't anything to shout about.
