From just reading the first extract I know I would adore this book! It’s exactly my kind of story and the complexity of the story, characters and setting intrigue me so much!
The story of the museum and Laure’s position as curator are mysterious and cleverly hinted at by the author without giving lots away. I really want to know more about the ‘broken promises’ and I think this idea of a museum of everyday objects with so much meaning is such a clever idea.
I was reminded of the book the keeper of lost things with the sentimentality behind the objects but the addition of it being in 1980s communist Czechoslovakia and in a museum where the items can be donated means that the story goes in such a new exciting direction.
