This book has great potential to either be an exquisite book that becomes a new favourite or a bit of a flop! I don't know why I'm not totally behind it but it feels perhaps that it's a second-hand idea just trying to fit into this newly popular genre of sort of historical/alternative/female-led novels that seem to be appearing. I think perhaps I'm being a little judgemental, I certainly hope that it exceeds my expectations!
