I have not read and enjoyed many books that include communism and life behind the Iron Curtain; however, every so often, a book bumbles along and grabs my attention like a child crying “Help”.
This is one of those times... firstly, the cover; a few objects being dangled from gold thread; why? whose are they?
The title of course provides a tantalising clue but the story behind those objects and how Laure finds herself the ‘wrong side’ of the Iron Curtain.
