The cover first attracted my attention as it is the kind of design I find very intriguing; almost magical. The title then continued that thread of thought so I was hooked very quickly!

The first few chapters detail a young woman feeling her home country in mainland Europe to the UK - you then find she has settled in Paris and is the curator of a museum of curiosities. The museum is very interesting and from the snippets revealed from the first impression, it promises to hold stories and histories from near and far, of sadness and disappointment and heartache.

One of the stories is no doubt of our protagonist, however the start of the book does not give much away. I wonder whether it is one of those books which will never fully reveal the whole story? or that turns out not as complex or thrilling as it promises to be - I hope not!

I am also unsure of the writing style which feels disjointed and stunted. A little stop start, stark and almost unfeeling... I am intrigued though, so would carry on reading anyhow to find out the truth about the museum and our runaway.
