The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover, followed by the description. I love books that alternate between the past and the present, especially in different countries. The next thing that drew me in was the imagery. The author has an effortless way with words when it comes to painting a picture of the scene in your head. I was immediately transported to Austria, standing at the side of the platform. The first chapter ends on a nail-biting cliffhanger and I'm eager to read on.
