I was not fortunate enough to win a pre publication copy of this book, but was delighted to find a copy in my local library.
Unfortunately it didn’t live up to my expectations.
The story alternated between Laure’s Life as a children’s nanny in communist Prague in 1986 and present day Paris where she is the curator of The Museum of Lost Promises.
I found the story rather dull and it didn’t hold my attention. The number of typos also detracted from my enjoyment of the book.
Having enjoyed Ruth Hogan’s wonderful book The Keeper of Lost Things, I was rather disappointed with this book as the similarity in the titles and the endorsements made on the front cover led me to expect better.
