This is not the usual type of book I read, but the gorgeous cover drew me in and felt it would be good to try something out of my comfort zone. The silhouettes if the various items were very intriguing!
I liked that the book was written in three different times; Paris in the present day, Prague in 1986 and Berlin in 1996. This really added to the interest of the story for me and kept it from feeling long and drawn out.
I enjoyed the historical references and learnt new things too! The descriptions of the cities were done well and you could really imagine being there. As the book goes on, we really see Laure’s character develop and it was good to finally find out the meaning of the museum of broken promises!
