I really liked the authors writing in this one. It was smooth and lyrical and what kept me going for most of it. The story would go back and forth between Laure now and Laure in the past. It was so intriguing and so well researched I believe. I felt like I was there with them. The sadness of the museum and then the political intrigue of the historical aspect is what kept me going. The sadness of her story intertwined with the ”making” of the museum was so artfully done. Although it's not the genre I would normally go for, Elizabeth Buchan is definitely someone who's book I would pick up to read as I believe the writing and the story telling is immense in this book and her others would be too. If you like historical fiction and emotional reads. This is for you.
