The volume of dialogue in this first look is quite significant, I find stories relying heavily on dialogue a slog to read. I had hoped to enjoy this book. A love story, set in the past, the blurb hinting at a trip to Italy. The only part I could relate to in these first pages was the male characters inability to count in anything, but German - clearly the language he learned to count in. As a linguist, this was relatable, but the I couldn’t relate or enjoy the rest.
