The boy is at the railway station with what appears to be his guardian or something, the boy doesn’t have a name just yet.
He is being difficult about going away, he is scared he is going to be left again, something he wouldn’t want to happen.
This is set just after the war and as he is German he is having to relearn a lot of things including speech as he is told people wouldn’t like it.
