Having read and enjoyed a previous book by the author I was excited to see what this new novel was going to be like as I remember her beautiful, descriptive style of writing.
I was immediately drawn into the story and am now eager to know what happens next, and what happened to Michael during the war. The first chapter suggested to me that the story might move back and forwards between the past and present which is a technique I really like in a book.
I love the style of the artwork on the cover, it immediately made me think of the East Coast America and is in keeping with the 1950s.
