The cover of this book is a work of art. I'll start with that as its about all I personally liked of this book. This is not an action book which is fine but I felt like it was a book where absolutely nothing happened. I thought I would be in love with all of the descriptions of Cape Cod or the heart felt stories of the people in this book but i was just plain bored.
The main underlying current to this book would be loss, and although there are glimmers of kindness that make you hopeful for the future for these characters, I found that I had very little to no compassion for them other than for Michael. Perhaps it was the authors almost lyrical writing style that I could not get on with but I won't be rereading this book nor anything else from Christine Dwyer Hickey.
