I found this book a little hard to get through, it was a bit too dark for me with the mental health issues and the characters I just couldn't connect with on any level. The setting and timeframe is usually something I go for, but the characters in this one just didn't do it for me. Of course there are characters that we are meant to dislike, but I just envisaged it a little different when I sat down to read it. Maybe the cover image is misleading, maybe it just isn't the type of book for me at this point in time. Perhaps if I return to it another time with fresh eyes it might be what I need, but for now its a no from me. I found Michael's emotional issues a little hard to deal with, as well as all the adult characters who did not interest me at all unfortunately.
