From first impression I really loved this books, simply for the beautiful and striking cover that instantly draws you and in and makes you want to find out just what this book is about.
This story is foremost told from the perspective of a child, at 10 years old it makes the story sad yet compelling and moving. At times it can be hard to follow due to the complexity of the plot but it just means that it takes a little longer than your average book and I think the depth of detail in the characters and stories is in fact needed and no way takes away from the quality of the writing.
In terms of the writing style, I would say that it is quite different but this is what makes the book captivating and makes me want to read more from this author!
