Whilst in some aspects of this book that I did enjoy, there were also others that I didn't. I very much enjoyed the characterisation and thought that each character was clearly defined and felt very realistic. I also very much enjoyed the descriptions of the scenery and surroundings. I thought it was cleverly written from each character's perspective in a quite subtle way, without being written as chapter titles and in the first person. The transition from one character to another was also very clever. I also found this book to be quite hypnotic which was slightly bizarre in that I would have read a few chapters before I knew it yet it all felt like it was moving very slowly. Hard to put my finger on what exactly made it like that! Anyway, not a book if you're looking for a fast-moving action-packed plot, but quite beautifully written and relaxing to read.
