I am on the fence on this on to be honest. I was u sure of the cover (but like the fact it is an Edward Hopper painting, so very apt for this book). I like to try new things so gave it a go - however sadly I don’t think this one is for me.
It took me longer than usual to read, it was very thought provoking too, but I don’t think I would read it again.
It’s 1950, summertime in Cape Cod. You follow 10year old Michael who forms an unusual friendship with two artists Jo and Edward Hopper.
The idea for this book I believe to be quite a romantic notion, but for me it is forced to happen as opposed to being natural. The era is one where people know of how quickly things could change so grasp opportunities then stumble upon.
I’m sure many would love this book, but unfortunately it wasn’t one for me.
