The impressive cover promises mystery, ritual, darkness, power. This fantasy isn't based on any single mythology but Alexandra Christo explains just enough to propel the story whilst hinting at faint echoes of Ancient Greece. It gripped me within a few pages. I like the dual perspective of the Monster and the Herald who are both believable despite being so strange.
