There's a lot of world building and lore to take in at the very beginning of this book but the author does a wonderful job of clearly conveying the workings of a fantasy land full of mystical creatues and monsters.
This book has a wide variety of characters, that I absolutely love already, and I can't wait to find out how all of their futures and fates interact with each other through the course of, what appears to be, a very unique story.
At first the main mystery is why the Nefas were banished to the mortal realm but I particularly look forward to finiding out more about the Herald and his past. Along with the main character Atia, he promises to lead us on an amazing adventure, fighting and conquering Gods, for freedom and understanding.
This was an excellent first read and would recommend trying this book when you can.
